Skott's debut EP, Stay Off My Mind, was released on January 11, 2018. A few days later on January 17 she attended and performed at the EBBA Awards where she received the European Borders Breakers Award. On January 20 she was nominated for two awards: \"Best Pop\" and \"Future Artist\" at the P3 Gold Awards. On February 7 she released a music video for the title track, \"Stay Off My Mind\", while an official remix by P3GI-13 and Skott herself was released on March 9. An official lyric video for another song off the EP \"Russian Soul\" was released on March 12. During this time Skott supported Danish singer MØ on several tour dates throughout March and April 2018. Later she also announced several 2018 summer festival dates where she performed.
Overall - I really enjoyed this album, mostly its second half. While her previous records were more distinctive between each other (the upbeat Stay Off My Mind, the epic A Letter from the Universe and the indie-tinged pop Always Live for Always) this one feels like it borrows parts from each of them and is not necessarily a bad thing - however it sometimes falls short when trying to sound more enthusiastic (Evergreen, Hollywood Love) while its highs are higher than other moments in her career (Silver Bridges, Memory Shore). Nonetheless, it feels cohesive and uniform as an album, which I really appreciate - and I'm sure I'll be revisiting it frequently.
I enjoy it when we go to those one or two shows. Last year we went to Berlin for the first time and that was a totally overwhelming response. We also went to Duna Jam, which is a great generator party on a sunny beach in Italy; perfect for Causa Sui, with people just chilling in the sand while the sun sets in the background and the waves come crashing in.
From v0.12.0, a first version of an incremental comparison can done by providing the --incremental argument from the CLI. A folder \".skott\" will be generated at the same location the command was run.
Note that because resolving paths from a cache involves many edge cases, incremental mode is not turned on by default yet, but will be once the feature covers most of the cases I have in mind. Most of the time using it works well though, so don't hesitate to abuse the feature and open issues if ever you encounter some problems while enabling the incremental feature to make it more stable.
What's not been said here is who isn't joining together for themove. That would be Zander, a former Nokia employee (Zander says heresigned a while ago), who is the KWord maintainer and co-maintainer for the KOffice libraries.
Reading through the koffice-devel list, a lot of fingers are pointed atZander, while he points to Nokia's involvement in KOffice. A discussion inJuly over a postmade by Zander to the KOffice.org front page demonstrates a fair amount oftension between Zander and other KOffice developers. The source ofcontention, in this case, stems from a postingby Zander about some ideas for the direction of KWord development. Thistypically would not raise eyebrows in a FOSS project, but Zander originallychose to use the front page of the KOffice.org site, apparently without much agreement on the ideas or the placement of the post.
In a post on his blog, Berger Skott agrees that the goals and vision for the two projects are different. In IRC, he said that \"we believe that the person who does the work is the one who [gets] to decide, all developers are treated equally and contribution is accepted, whether from community or paid developers, while Thomas is favorable to a stricter control on the code.\" He added that \"community issues between him [Zander] and other members started a long time ago.\" Indeed, Zander had been asked to leave the KOffice project once prior, and came back in February 2008 with a promise to avoid non-technical discussions. Strictly speaking, that didn't happen.
